Limits that are set by you
We understand that maintaining control over your gambling is important, and many of our customers choose to use limits as a responsible way to manage their spending. At BetWright you can choose between two types of limit: Deposit Limits or Net Deposit Limits.
Not sure how much you can afford to spend? Use BetWright's Net Deposit Budget Calculator to quickly and easily determine a gambling budget tailored to your financial situation.
Deposit Limits
A Deposit Limit caps the total amount you can deposit over a set period. Withdrawals do not affect it: every deposit counts towards your limit, even if you later withdraw some or all of your money.
Example: you set a £100 7-day Deposit Limit. You deposit £100 and then withdraw £50. You cannot deposit again until the 7-day period has passed, because you have already deposited £100.
Net Deposit Limits
A Net Deposit Limit caps your deposits minus your withdrawals over a set period. When you withdraw money, that amount is taken off your deposit total, which frees up room to deposit again.
Example: you set a £100 7-day Net Deposit Limit. You deposit £100 and then withdraw £50. Your net deposits are now £50, so you can deposit up to another £50 in that period.
For more detail, see our guide to Rolling Net Deposit Limits.
Which should I choose?
- Choose a Deposit Limit if you want a firm cap on how much money goes into your account, whatever you withdraw.
- Choose a Net Deposit Limit if you want to limit how much you could lose overall, allowing for any money you take back out.
Timeframes
Whichever type of limit you choose, you can set it for the following timeframes:
- 24-hour period
- 7-day period
- 30-day period
Once set, your limit is firm and cannot be overridden, ensuring you remain in control of your deposits and avoid spending more than you intend.
Changing your limit
You can decrease your limit at any time, and the change will be applied immediately. Lowering your limit is a great way to take further control if you feel your current limit is too high.
However, if you decide that you want to increase your limit, we ask that you take a moment to reflect and make sure this decision is in your best interest. Consider whether increasing your limit is financially responsible for you. Never increase your limit in an attempt to chase losses. Gambling more in the hope of winning back lost money can lead to further financial and emotional harm.
To support responsible gambling, we have a cooling-off period in place:
- If you request an increase to your limit, you'll need to wait 24 hours before we take any action. After this time, you will need to return to our site to confirm that you still wish to proceed with the increase. This extra step gives you time to think things through and avoid making impulsive decisions.
Deposit Limits and Net Deposit Limits are just two of the many tools available to help you gamble safely. We encourage you to use them as part of your broader strategy for staying in control.
